Stage 15: Castrojeriz to Frómista

September 7, 2018

First of all, Happy Birthday to my beautiful oldest daughter, Morgan! For those of you who know her, you know what an outstanding woman/mother/wife/doctor she has became. We love you, sweetheart!

Now, back to the Camino. It was another beautiful day on the Camino...temperatures in the mid 70's with a slight breeze all day and, for the most part, good walking roads. Our official mileage today was 15.7 miles. We started off with a steep 2-mile climb (12% grade) to the top of Mostelares and then an even steeper descent (18%). The remainder of the day was mostly on flat roads and the last 2 miles we walked along the Canal de Castilla.

Rich didn't think his feet would do well with a 15.7 mile walk today, so he took a taxi to the town of Itero (@ 6.5 miles from Castrojeriz) and walked the remaining 9 miles into Frómista. Although we didn't catch up to him during the walk, he did wait for us at the bridge into the city.

We're almost to our halfway point, both in number of stages and miles!! As you can tell from the post title, today was our 15th day of walking. Only 19 more stages, 20 more days and 268 more miles to Santiago. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we continue our journey.

Buen Camino
Ready to hit the road

But not sure if we're ready for this steep climb!
