Stage 20: El Burgo Ranero to Mansilla de las Mulas

September 12, 2018

Today's 11.8 mile walk was along a shady graveled senda next to a quiet country road. As has been the case for the last few days, the terrain has been relatively flat with oceans of harvested wheat fields everywhere the eye can see. We did see a few groves of poplar trees today, however, which broke the monotony and provided a splash of color.

Rich walked with us again today and, at one point, declared a Camino miracle as his feet felt like they were back to normal. This lasted for the first 9 miles or so. After that, his feet were quite sore and tired and, when we finally arrived at our pilgrim hotel in Mansilla all he wanted to do was take his shoes off and rest his feet. None of us had had lunch, but he wasn't even interested in that. For those of you who know my husband, this is unheard of!!

We are now only 14 more stages, 15 more days and 207 more miles from Santiago. Vaya con Dios.
